JOB PURPOSE

Provide strategic and operational support in advancing KESUMA’s initiatives through effective policy inputs, stakeholder engagement, and project coordination. The role ensures smooth communication and collaboration between HRD Corp, KESUMA, and other agencies while maintaining discretion, professionalism, and alignment with ministerial priorities.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Project Management & Coordination

  • Coordinate and oversee priority initiatives and projects by monitoring timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation, proactively identifying risks and resolving bottlenecks to ensure smooth implementation of KESUMA’s key programmes.
  • Provide progress updates and align initiatives with both organisational and ministerial objectives to achieve impact within set deadlines.

 

 

Policy Analysis & Advisory

  • Provide policy and advisory support by conducting research and analysis of socio-economic trends, labour market data, and policy developments, translating findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Prepare briefing notes, policy papers, and reports that support evidence-based decision-making, while anticipating the potential implications of policies and initiatives on KESUMA’s stakeholders.

 

Stakeholder & Inter-Agency Engagement

  • Manage inter-agency and stakeholder engagement by establishing effective communication channels with government ministries, agencies, industry partners, and international bodies.
  • Facilitate collaboration, coordinate inputs across agencies, and ensure protocol adherence for high-level meetings and official functions, thereby strengthening cooperation and achieving policy alignment.

 

Communications & Protocol Management

  • Manage ministerial communications and official engagements by drafting speeches, talking points, presentations, and correspondence with accuracy and consistency, reflecting KESUMA’s key messages and strategic direction.
  • Coordinate protocol and event arrangements for ministerial participation in forums, visits, and engagements to ensure professionalism, visibility, and positive stakeholder reception.

 

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Oversee operational and administrative requirements by managing the Minister’s schedule, coordinating high-level meetings, and handling travel logistics with efficiency and discretion.
  • Draft confidential correspondences, proposals, and reports; monitor budget utilisation and resource allocation; and ensure all administrative matters are executed in line with government standards and organisational requirements.

 

EDUCATION QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Business Administration, Mass Communications, or a related field.
  • Postgraduate qualification would be an added advantage.

 

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

  • 1 – 5 years of experience working in Business, Administration, Mass Communications, Office Management, or related field.
  • Exposure and related experience to marketing, campaign management, promotions, or a related field, would be an added advantage.
  • Excellent in written communication and experience in preparing proposal papers.
  • Good analytical skills and experience with data management and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant systems.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional maturity, political sensitivity, and high integrity.
  • Discreet, adaptable, and detail-oriented, with the ability to anticipate needs proactively.
