JOB PURPOSE

To ensure stability, reliability, and availability of Java-based applications by providing technical support, application development, and resolving incidents to enhance operational efficiency and ensure seamless business continuity.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Application Support Operations

  • Monitor and maintain application performance by addressing technical issues proactively to ensure continuous availability. Resolve Level 2/Level 3 technical challenges by using advanced troubleshooting techniques to minimise downtime and user impact.
  • Document operational processes and maintain updated support guides to standardise resolutions and improve team efficiency.

 

Incident Management and Resolution

  • Investigate and diagnose application issues by conducting root cause analysis to prevent recurrence and maintain system stability. Maintain detailed incident records and communicate findings with stakeholders to enhance transparency and future preparedness.
  • Coordinate with relevant teams to ensure timely resolution of incidents while minimising service disruptions.

 

Problem Management and Prevention

  • Identity recurring issues by analysing application logs an frends to design and implement permanent solutions.
  • Collaborate with development teams to deploy preventive measures that align with business and operational requirements.Evaluate system health and performance regularly to anticipate and mitigate potentia problems proactively.

 

Application Performance Enhancement

  • Work with stakeholders to prioritise and implement application enhancements that address feedback and operational demands. Conduct performance testing and optimisation using analytical tools to improve scalability and efficiency.
  • Recommend and deploy updates to improve application functionality while adhering to compliance and quality standards.

 

Deployment and System Support

  • Manage application deployments by ensuring compliance with quality, security, and operational protocols to achieve seamless updates.
  • Utilise monitoring tools to evaluate system performance and identity areas for improvement to ensure high reliability.
  • Provide user support and maintain comprehensive troubleshooting documentation to facilitate effective resolution of common issues.

 

QUALIFICATION & RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in application support or development, preferably with exposure to enterprise Java applications.
  • Proficiency in Java, JEE, Spring, SQL, and application servers.
  • Experience with debugging tools, monitoring tools, CI/D pipelines, and ticketing systems.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and enterprise-level Java application support.
  • Strong understanding of application performance optimisation and system stability techniques.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to addressing technical challenges.
