SECTION 2: JOB PURPOSE & OVERVIEW

Responsible for directing and governing the organisation’s IT function across Digital Platforms, IT Operations, and IT Support. The role ensures that technology capabilities are strategically aligned with business objectives, operate with high levels of resilience and security, and deliver measurable value to the organisation.

 

Reporting to the CTO, this role bridges strategy and execution by translating enterprise technology direction into effective delivery, robust governance, and operational excellence, while leading teams, budgets, and vendor ecosystems.

1.

Enterprise IT Strategy

Drive enterprise IT strategy execution by translating the CTO’s technology roadmap into prioritised, sequenced, and fully funded initiatives through structured planning, enterprise alignment, and formal governance forums to ensure IT investments directly support business objectives and deliver measurable organisational value.

 

This accountability requires close collaboration with senior business leaders to align demand and capacity, track execution progress, and adjust priorities as business needs evolve. Success is demonstrated through clear ownership of outcomes, transparency of delivery, and consistent realisation of benefits from technology investments.

 

2.

Digital Platform Management and Innovations

Lead digital platform ownership and evolution by governing endtoend platform lifecycles, roadmaps, and investment decisions in partnership with business stakeholders and technology partners to deliver scalable, secure, and highly adopted digital platforms that enable business growth and innovation.

 

This includes ensuring platforms meet performance, integration, user experience, and architectural standards while driving modernisation, consolidation, and continuous enhancement. The role is accountable for balancing speed, quality, and sustainability to maximise platform value while minimising technical debt and operational risk.

 

3.

IT Operations and Infrastructure

Ensure resilient IT operations and infrastructure by establishing robust IT service management, availability, capacity, and disaster recovery practices using recognised industry frameworks and operational controls to maintain stable, secure, and costeffective technology services for the enterprise.

 

This accountability focuses on operational excellence, risk reduction, and continuous improvement of infrastructure and services. The role ensures incidents are resolved effectively, changes are governed appropriately, and operational performance is continuously monitored to support business continuity and reliability.

 

4.

IT Support and Service

Deliver highquality IT support and service experience by defining service standards, SLAs, and support operating models while driving automation, selfservice, and performance monitoring to achieve high levels of user satisfaction, predictable service outcomes, and consistent support quality.

 

This includes leading service improvement initiatives, strengthening communication with end users, and ensuring support teams operate with a strong customercentric mindset. Success is measured through service performance results, enduser feedback, and the maturity of IT support processes across the organisation.

 

5.

IT Risk, Security, and Financial Stewardship

Govern IT risk, security, and financial stewardship by enforcing cyber security controls, regulatory compliance, budget discipline, and vendor governance through clear accountability models and performance oversight to protect the organisation while optimising cost, risk exposure, and longterm sustainability.

 

This accountability requires close collaboration with risk, security, audit, and finance stakeholders to ensure compliance, transparency, and value for money. The role ensures technology risks are managed proactively, vendors deliver against agreed outcomes, and IT resources are allocated responsibly and efficiently.

SECTION 5: QUALIFICATION & RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

(Indicate the minimum knowledge and skills required for this job i.e. education, professional working experience and other specific skills)

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Master’s degree (MBA or relevant technology discipline) is advantageous

 

Relevant Experience (skills & knowledge)

  • 12–15 years of progressive IT experience, including at least 5 years in senior IT leadership roles
  • Proven experience overseeing digital platforms, IT operations, and enterprise IT support
  • Strong exposure to IT governance, cyber security, and largescale vendor management
