JOB PURPOSE & OVERVIEW

Responsible for supporting investment research, portfolio monitoring, and financial analysis activities to facilitate informed investment decision-making. The role focuses on evaluating market and investment data, preparing reports and insights, monitoring portfolio performance, and supporting risk and compliance activities in alignment with the organisation's investment objectives and governance requirements.

 

  

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1.

Investment Research & Market Analysis

Analyse market trends, economic indicators, and asset class performance by conducting detailed research and financial evaluations to identify viable investment opportunities and support data-driven decision-making aligned with the organisation’s financial objectives.

 

Monitor and interpret market movements by leveraging financial data, research tools, and analytical frameworks to generate timely insights and actionable recommendations. The analysis provided supports management in making informed investment decisions while ensuring responsiveness to changing market conditions and emerging opportunities.

 

2.

Investment Evaluation & Execution Support

Assist in evaluating investment opportunities by conducting financial analysis, reviewing investment proposals, and performing preliminary due diligence to support investment assessments.

 

Support the execution of approved investment transactions by coordinating with internal stakeholders, financial institutions, fund managers, custodians, and other relevant parties to ensure timely and accurate implementation of investment activities. Maintain investment-related records, documentation, and transaction files to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established requirements.

 

3.

Portfolio Monitoring & Performance Reporting

Monitor the performance of investment portfolios by tracking returns, portfolio allocations, investment exposures, and other relevant performance indicators against approved benchmarks and objectives.

 

Prepare periodic portfolio performance reports, management updates, dashboards, and presentations by analysing investment results and highlighting key trends, risks, and developments. Assist in portfolio review exercises by providing analytical support and identifying areas requiring further assessment or management attention.

 

4.

Risk Management, Compliance & Governance Support

Support the monitoring and assessment of investment-related risks, including market, credit, liquidity, and operational risks, by analysing relevant information and escalating significant findings where appropriate.

 

Assist in ensuring compliance with approved investment mandates, internal policies, governance requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines through regular monitoring and reporting activities. Maintain proper documentation and records to support governance, audit reviews, regulatory reporting, and compliance requirements.

 

5.

Stakeholder Management & Investment Operations

Coordinate and maintain effective working relationships with internal departments, external fund managers, financial institutions, consultants, custodians, and other service providers to facilitate investment-related activities and information exchange.

 

Provide administrative, analytical support and management meetings, including the preparation of investment papers, reports, presentations, meeting materials, and follow-up actions. Support investment operational activities, including monitoring transaction settlements, maintaining portfolio records, and ensuring the timely submission of required reports and documentation.

QUALIFICATION & RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field required;
  • Professional qualification as a Chartered Certified Accountant e.g. MIA, ACCA, CIMA, MICPA and ICAEW would be an added advantage.
  • Certification in Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), and/or Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) would be an added advantage.

 

Relevant Experience (skills & knowledge)

  • 1-5 years of experience in treasury management, investment analysis, or related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modelling and data analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial markets, investment instruments, and regulatory requirements.
